This challenge works by collecting your heart rate data after you have done an activity. You're then assigned points according to the different heart rate zones you work in. Your data is uploaded to your personal profile page on this website where you can see your results, what position you're in and loads more. Go to 'Join now' to have a browse around, and go to 'challenge page' to join in :D
As it takes in to consideration your maximum heart rate, it doesn't matter how fit you are, it's all about effort. The more you put in, the more points you get.
For example, someone new to running (person A) goes for a 10 minute run with someone who has been running for years (person B). Person A has to work harder/put in more effort than person B to keep the same pace. Person A's heart rate is 80%+ of their maximum heart rate so gets 60 points. Person B's heart rate is 60-69% of their maximum heart rate so gets 20 points. Person B needs to run faster or for longer to get 60 points. See points chart below for more information.
* You're only allowed to upload 6 days of activity/week & you get 6 points for both the red & yellow zones to ensure you don't over-exert yourself.

Basicly, if you have a Myzone Heart Rate Monitor, you can link this directly to your vhealthychallenge.com account.
If you have a different heart rate monitor, you just need to link it to a STRAVA account which links your device to our account & you're good to go.
